The All Campus Council of the Faculty Senate Chairs (ACCFSC), composed of faculty leaders representing all 10 University of Hawai`i system campuses statewide, held a two-day workshop at the UH William S. Richardson School of Law on Friday and Saturday, January 7 and 8.
The workshop, which was sponsored by UHPA, was designed to equip faculty to better understand the budgeting process and to raise the level of fiscal accountability across the UH system. It was facilitated by professors respected for their expertise in evaluating university budgets across the nation. Rudy Fichtenbaum, Professor of Economics with the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and Howard J. Bunsis, Professor of Accounting at Eastern Michigan University, who also holds a law degree, led the workshop.
If you were not able to attend the workshop, a video and slide presentation is now available for viewing. The materials also include the UH audited financial statements, the 2009-2011 biennium budget and expenditure trends from fiscal years 2006-2006 to 2009-2010.
