The best way to ensure legislators understand your perspective on key legislative issues is to submit testimony on those bills that affect you and your colleagues.

With so many bills, it’s not always easy for legislators and their staff to be well versed on every topic that comes before their committees.  Your testimony could help them to see the issues in a new light.

The Hawaii State Legislature makes it easy for you to participate in the legislative process.

Register with the Hawaii Legislature

The registration process will allow you to establish a password. The entire process will take no more than five minutes.

Once you have registered, you can sign up for notifications on bills relating to the University of Hawaii or any other topic that is important to you. This will alert you to committee hearings that are scheduled and which bills will be discussed, so that you can prepare and submit testimony.

You can efficiently submit your testimony online.

You may also email your testimony directly to the appropriate committee, hand deliver your testimony to the committee office, or fax in your testimony.
