ARTICLE XXX, DURATION

This Agreement shall be effective as of July 1, 2009 and shall remain in effect to and including June 30, 2015. During the term of this Agreement, and not less than ninety (90) days before the beginning of the legislative sessions of 2011 and 2013, the parties shall meet to bargain in good faith on whether the salaries and other compensation provided in Article XXI shall be increased above the levels established therein. The results of these negotiations shall not cause salaries or other compensation to be reduced. The Union may, at its sole discretion, terminate this Agreement early, by not less than sixty (60) days’ written notice to the Public Employer and the Hawaii Labor Relations Board, if: a) the parties fail to reach agreement over increases to the salary and compensation provided in Article XXI before the opening date of the 2013 legislative session; or b) during the term of this Agreement, the Public Employer shall fail to pay agreed wages or benefits.
