UHPA on HI Now Daily: Spotlighting the Power of Our Faculty

We know that your impact as faculty extends far beyond the four walls of a classroom, fueling Hawai‘i’s local economy. From pioneering medical breakthroughs to fueling Hawaiʻi’s local economy and food security, your work is the engine driving our state forward.

To ensure the public and our policymakers see this value firsthand, UHPA is proud to announce a year-long partnership with HI Now on Hawaii News Now.

Throughout 2026, we are producing dedicated news segments that take viewers “behind the scenes” to meet our members and see the real-world results of their research, service, and teaching. This campaign is made possible through a MOVE grant provided by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and allows us to showcase the diverse contributions of our members across the UH System at no additional cost to our local dues, ensuring your stories reach a statewide audience.

UHPA Office Updates

Please note the following updates regarding our office schedule and building access over the coming weeks:  

Week of January 19–23

Due to scheduled roof repairs, parking at the UHPA office will be limited from Tuesday, January 20, through Friday, January 23.  If you require assistance or need to visit the office during this time, please call us in advance to schedule an appointment. This will help us ensure we can accommodate your visit.

Please note that the office will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Friday, February 27

On Friday, February 27, the UHPA office will be closed all day for an offsite staff meeting.
