With just a little over a week before the general election on Nov. 2 and reliable polls showing a head-to-head battle between gubernatorial candidates Neil Abercrombie and Duke Ainoa, UHPA has added two new TV and radio spots to the arsenal to help ensure Abercrombie gets into Washington Place.

The first spot, titled “No More Negative,” expresses the sentiment of voters who have grown weary of all of the negative advertising on TV.  Rather than be sidetracked by the negativity and discouraged from voting, the TV commercial urges voters to focus on the character of the candidates and to vote Neil Abercrombie for governor.

The second spot, titled “Future,” adopts an entirely different tone from any other political TV spot currently on the air.  Using the image of a little girl, the spot encourages voters to refocus on what the gubernatorial election is all about – the future of Hawaii.

Both spots begin airing this coming week on Oceanic Cable as well as network stations KGMB, KHON and KITV during the morning, afternoon and evening.  The radio spots, which have the same audio as the TV spots, will be airing on such stations as KSSK AM and FM, KHVH AM, KRTR AM and FM, KINE FM, KUMU and KPOI.
