Aloha UHPA Members,
Mahalo to all who participated in the recent vote on the proposed Resolution and Amended and Restated Bylaws of the University of Hawaii Professional Assembly (UHPA). Over the past two weeks, members had the opportunity to review and cast their vote on the important measure.
The proposed revisions:
- – Formally recognize UHPA’s affiliation with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT)
- – Establish provisions regarding the AFT Convention
- – Clarify processes for delegate elections and automatic delegates
- – Extends consecutive terms for the UHPA Board of Directors
- – Address Board of Directors holdover terms
Voting Results (Tuesday, September 30, 2025, 4:30 p.m. close):
- – 95.3%- YES (444 in favor)
- – 4.7% – NO (22 opposed)
