From immediate national mobilizations to local candidate meet-and-greets, these events offer various ways for you to stand in solidarity with your colleagues and the broader community.
REMINDER: Tomorrow, March 4th – AFT Day of Action
Protect Our Kids, Our Families, and Our Communities
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, is the AFT National Day of Action to Protect Our Kids, Our Families, and Our Communities.
We are joining together to resist the hollowing out of our public institutions and the muzzling of educators. This Day of Action is a collective stand against cuts to higher education, childcare, and healthcare, as well as federal actions that threaten academic freedom and the safety of our campuses and communities.
3 Easy Ways to Take Action Tomorrow:
- — Wear Blue: Wear your UHPA shirt, an AFT shirt, or any blue shirt to show our collective strength.
— Snap & Share: Take a selfie or a group photo with your colleagues and email it to sdayan@uhpa.org.
— Tell Your Story: If you have been impacted by current federal policies or have fought back in your community, use this form to share your experience with the AFT.

Upcoming Opportunity: Meet-and-Greet with Christy MacPherson – Friday, March 13
UHPA has officially endorsed Christy MacPherson for Hawai‘i State Senate District 14. She will be running against longtime incumbent Donna Mercado Kim. Christy will be hosting a “Wine & Cheese” event to share her vision for education, housing, and healthcare.
We are passing this information along to ensure our members have the opportunity to engage with her platform firsthand.

Save the Date: Saturday, March 28, 2026 – “No Kings” Day of Action
Looking ahead, UHPA will be participating in the “No Kings – Day of Defiance” mass mobilization on Saturday, March 28. This nationwide event is focused on defending democracy and the integrity of our public institutions.
We want our members to know that UHPA will be active in this movement, and we encourage you to save the date. Specific details regarding meeting locations and how you can get involved are still being finalized. Full details will be forthcoming soon.
