Important Information Regarding Your American Income Life $2,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit and Sales Calls

By now, all UHPA members should have received a letter and a beneficiary response card in the mail regarding their American Income Life (AIL) $2,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy. If you completed and returned the beneficiary card, you may be receiving phone calls or text messages from AIL agents. We want to address some concerns and confusion regarding your AIL benefits.

  1. Your $2,500 Benefit is Automatic. By simply being a UHPA member, you automatically have a no-cost $2,500 AD&D policy. You do not need to take any action to secure this benefit.
  2. Sending in the Beneficiary Card Triggers Additional Benefits and Sales Calls. Returning the AIL response card is how you officially designate a beneficiary, and access AIL’s additional no-cost offerings, which include:
  • Legacy Will Kit: A tool to help you prepare documents like a will and power of attorney.
  • AIL Plus Discount Card:  Provides discounts on prescriptions, vision checkups, and dental care.
  • Child Safe Kit: A resource is designed to help parents provide information to authorities in the event a child goes missing.

A licensed AIL agent will call or text to schedule a Zoom meeting regarding the additional benefits. They will also offer a “personalized needs analysis”—a financial checkup designed to review your overall financial picture and see what fits your budget—and will advertise their paid insurance products.  If you are not interested in the additional no-cost offerings or do not wish to purchase anything, let them know and ask them to put you on their “do not contact” list.  Please remember, you are never obligated to buy anything.

If you have any questions about your benefits, you may call our local AIL Representative, Laila D’avignon at 808-308-5858 or email LDAVIGNON@ailife.com

We hope this addresses your concerns regarding the out-of-state phone calls and texts you may have received and we apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused you. We can never be too careful.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.
