R-21, Memorandum of Understanding on Duties and Responsibilities of Academic Chairs

Immediately upon the execution of this Agreement, or as soon as is reasonably possible, representatives of the University Administration and representatives of the University of Hawaii Professional Assembly shall meet to review the standards set forth in BOR Policy, UH Executive and Administrative policies, and the actual practices pertaining to the duties and responsibilities of Division and Department Chairs, and other similar positions, on the campuses of the University of Hawaii System.

After completing the review, the parties shall draft a description for the respective positions of academic chairs that includes a listing of expectations, duties, and responsibilities.
