UHPA Contract Funded by Legislature

On September 1, 2017 the Legislature approved the salary appropriations for the UHPA contract for 2017 and 2018. The bill now goes to the Governor for his signature. He is expected to sign. Today’s information indicates that back pay will not be received in the October 5 payroll. It may be late October or November depending on the mechanics of the retroactive calculations. UHPA Seeks to Allow Legislature to Appropriate Salary Funds during a Special Legislative Session

UHPA filed a request that the Hawaii Labor Relations Board rule on whether the Legislature may appropriate funds for a collective bargaining agreement during a Special Legislative Session. New Contract to be signed on August 3, 2017

The  new contract between UHPA, the University of Hawaii, and the Governor will be signed on August 3. This will formalize the tentative agreements on all language and EUTF contributions for faculty members. The salary increases now must be requested by the Governor to the Legislature for approval.
