Pride at Work Hawaii LGBT Labor Leadership Training Workshop

Thanks to support from the AQ McElrath Fund for Economic and Social Justice, and Pride at Work's national office, Pride at Work Hawai'i will host an LGBT Labor Leadership Training workshop on Friday and Saturday, January 28 & 29, 2011. Dinner, lunch and light pupus and breakfast will be provided. The workshop will focus on campaigns of specific interest to union Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender advocates in Hawaii, and will involve training, workshops and a panel discussion on effective communication and lobbying of LGBT labor issues in our workplaces, communities and the state. This will be a good opportunity for UHPA members to learn how to organize to promote the interests of LGBT workers at UH.

ALERT–Kaiser Comprehensive Subscribers Only

Effective January 1, 2011 (pay check dated January 20, 2011), Kaiser Comprehensive subscribers will see an increase in your monthly employee contribution for the self and family premiums due to changes in the employer contribution. Self subscribers will be paying $142.72 instead of $134.78 or an increase of $7.94 per month. For family subscriber the increase will be $7.52 per month -- $441.72 instead of $434.20. There will be no change to the two-party deductions.
