The UHPA Board of Directors endorsed the following candidates for the 2008 election. The Board of Directors recommended endorsements were affirmed by UHPA members through surveys in December 2007 and March 2008.

Dues

All faculty members (1/2 time or more) of the UH system are included by state law in bargaining unit 7.  Annual dues of 1% of your salary is made through payroll deduction.  To become an UHPA member, complete the UHPA Membership Application.

Salary Increase

The final salary increase of 11% in the 2003-2009 Agreement between the UHPA and the UH-BOR was made on July 1, 2008 (reflected on the July 15th payroll) for faculty members on 11-month appointments. Faculty on 9-month appointments received their 11% increase in salary on August 1, 2008 (reflected on the August 14th payroll).

(NOTE:  A 9-month faculty members' duty period is from August to May and they are paid over 12 months.  Their annual salary is divided by twelve months, so the last payment would be met in July.)
